So, I Play the Trumpet…

…Pretty well, if I do say so myself! And I could play it at your event! I love to accompany the songs I’m DJing with a little live music flair. Sometimes I play the chorus and play while your guests sing along, sometimes I improvise a cool solo to make a song my own for a few minutes - either way, I’m bringing a taste of real Kansas City jazz (and 20 years of trumpet-playing experience) to your dance floor.

A little background:

I’ve always wanted to incorporate the trumpet into my DJ sets in some way. After all, that’s where this all started - with a 5th grader who said he wanted to be just like Louis Armstrong. Okay - Louis didn’t use turntables… but Timmy Trumpet can do it, Joe Cocker does it, so why not Max James?

Initially, I just did little one-offs. “Yeah, I’ll play one song for your grand entrance!” and then “Sure, I’ll play that for your first dance!” Then I’d go home with an itch to play more. Eventually, I developed enough of a setlist to be able to present it to dancers and listeners. So here we are. I can DJ your event, or… we could do something a little different.
